A Day of Beauty, Confidence, and Community: Our Back-to-School Beauty Day Recap
Saturday was a day we won't forget.
Beauty In Me Foundation hosted our Back-to-School Beauty Day, and it was everything we hoped it would be, and more.
Girls in our program walked in and left with fresh shampoo and styles, ready to start the school year feeling confident and cared for. Watching each girl look in the mirror and light up is a moment that never gets old for us.
But the day was about more than just hair.
We had a DJ keeping the energy high all day, good music playing while girls got pampered and families mingled. We served food, so no one left hungry, and the whole space felt like a family gathering instead of just an event.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day came when a local police officer stopped by to talk with our girls. She spent time speaking with them honestly, answering questions, and showing them that community and safety go hand in hand. Moments like that matter, girls got to see a positive, approachable example of law enforcement, someone who showed up just to pour into them.
From the styling chairs to the dance floor to the quiet conversations happening around the room, yesterday was a true community effort. Parents, volunteers, sponsors, and neighbors all came together for one purpose: making sure our girls felt seen, supported, and ready to shine.
We're so grateful for everyone who made yesterday possible. This is exactly why Beauty In Me Foundation exists, and it's why we'll keep showing up, event after event, year after year.
Here's to a beautiful new school year ahead. 🩵

How It Started: Coats, Christmas, and Five Girls Who Mattered
Before Beauty In Me Foundation had a name people knew, before there was a website, an Academy, or a Back-to-School Beauty Day, there were five girls.
It was December 2024, and we wanted to do something simple: make sure five girls had warm coats and clothes for the winter, and feel a little bit of Christmas joy along the way.
Two of the girls were able to come to the event in person. We had a Christmas tree, we served food, and for a little while, it just felt like family. We took pictures that day that we still look back on, not because they were perfect, but because they were real.
The other three girls couldn't make it, they didn't have a way to get there. So instead of letting that stop us, we packed up their coats and gifts ourselves and brought Christmas to them.
That part matters as much as the party did. Because that's really what this whole foundation is built on: showing up for a girl even when the road to reach her isn't easy.
We didn't know it yet, but that small December day was the seed for everything that came after. Every session in the salon chair, every Back-to-School Beauty Day, every girl who walks through our program now, traces back to five girls and some coats in the winter of 2024.
We're just getting started. And we're glad you're here for the next chapter.

One small thing before you post it: check if you have written permission to share those girls' photos publicly. If any parent marked "no" on a photo release, leave that child's face out of the pictures you choose for this post.
